Dr. Frank Serafini, a humorous and engaging presenter at state
and national conferences, is an Associate Professor of Literacy
Education and Children’s Literature at Arizona State University. After
years as an elementary classroom teacher and then as a literacy
specialist, his current focus is on improving reading instruction
and the best ways to use enticing children’s literature.
A true “Renaissance Man,” Frank is an author, illustrator,
photographer and musician. He has written several books on
reading workshop and comprehension, including Interactive
Comprehension Strategies: Fostering Meaningful Talk about
Texts. He has also written and illustrated a series of popular
nature picturebooks for children.
