How do I register for a seminar?

You can register for any SDR seminar any one of the following ways:

1) Online Registrations. Search for the seminar you would like to register for at the top of

    this page, locate the seminar on the search results page, then click on Register. Complete

    the Registration Form (one for each participant), then click the Submit button.

 2) Fax or Mail Registrations. Search for the seminar you would like to register for at the top of

    this page, locate the seminar on the search results page, then click on Register. Print out the

    Registration Form and Fax your completed form to (310) 534-1002 or mail with your payment

    to SDR, P.O. Box 3168, Torrance, CA 90510-3168. You can fill in your registration information

    on the computer and print it out without submitting online, or fill it out by hand (please write legibly).

 3) Phone Registrations. Call (800) 678-8908, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Please have

    the title, date, location and payment information available for the registrar.

Where is the seminar, and how do I get there?

To find out when and where a seminar is being held and to get a map and directions:

1) First, search for the seminar that you want to attend.

2) Then, click on the Seminar Title to find the name, address and phone number of the seminar

    site and hotel accommodations.

3) Next, click on "Get Directions" to view a map and get driving directions from Google Maps.

    If you are still unsure how to get to the seminar, call the seminar site for directions.

Is there a registration deadline?

There is no cut-off date for accepting registrations. We accept registrations up to the

day of the seminar, including walk-in registrations (space permitting). Seminars are

closed to registration when they reach the capacity of the seminar site. Please register

as soon as possible!

When is my payment due?

Registration fees are due and payable prior to the seminar. Checks, Purchase

Orders, VISA and MasterCard accepted. No cash please.

Can I register using a purchase order?

Yes you may register with a School or District purchase order. Simply supply

SDR with the purchase order number and the name, address, and phone number of

the school or district responsible for payment at the time you register.

What are the starting and ending times of the seminar?

All seminars are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. On-site

registration and check-in begins at 8:00 a.m. Lunch break is approximately

11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

What if I need to cancel my registration?

Your paid registration fee is fully refundable if you can't attend and notify us

at least seven (7) calendar days prior to the program. Late cancellations receive

credit toward a future seminar. Please call our registration department at (800) 678-8908,

7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, if you need to cancel your registration.

Can someone else substitute for me at the seminar?

Substitutions may be made at any time. Please call our registration department at

(800) 678-8908, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time, with the name and registration

information of the person who will be taking your place if you know prior to the seminar.

Otherwise, your substitute may notify the on-site registrar at the seminar, telling them the

name of the person they are substituting for.

Will the seminar be canceled if bad weather is expected?

SDR makes every effort to hold all scheduled seminars. In cases of severe weather,

please call the meeting site directly the morning of the program to confirm whether or not

the seminar will be held that day. If you need to cancel due to inclement weather please

call our registration department at (800) 678-8908, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

How do I get a hotel room for the night before the seminar?

Please make your own reservations directly with the hotel listed on the

seminar brochure at least three weeks in advance. Be sure to mention

Staff Development Resources to receive the meeting rate (if available). To find the

hotel address and telephone number:

1) First, search for the seminar that you want to attend.

2) Then, click on the Seminar Title to find the name, address and phone number of the seminar

    site and hotel accommodations.

If I can't attend, may I purchase the seminar materials separately?

No, SDR does not sell any of our seminar materials separately from seminar

attendance.

May I tape record or videotape the seminar?

Audio or video recording is not permitted at any seminar.

Is attendance verification available?

All seminar attendees will be provided verification of hours of participation,

which may be used to meet individual continuing education or re-certification requirements.

What other types of re-certification credits are available?

Re-certification credits and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) options vary from

state to state. SDR is an approved provider for most state re-certification credits. Please

check our Continuing Education Units page for details.

Is college or university credit available as an option?

SDR and Chapman University have partnered to offer graduate level extension

credit. The fee for this credit is $65. Details about course registration will be available at
